Snow is flying, mirrors my thoughts.

As I sit in a window, watching the world slowly change to white. I am pressed by many ideas, mostly the idle ramblings of a person with not enough intellectual stimuli in his life at present. Some of which I feel might be fun to voice. This new blog is nothing much more than a journal of sorts. A voicing of a small voice, likely not original, but typically silent in the screaming cacophony of leftist and rightist ideologies. I have a written journal, one that I often find myself meandering pen to page around the many dusty and cob-web ridden nooks and crannies of my mind. But the idea of putting such thoughts in the open, is novel and somewhat exciting for a man who tends to keep his emotions in check, and his voice to the background of serious debate, and the foreground of idle chit chat, and merriment.

What is moderation, if one is to live a life of moderation, they are to be a person who pursues a complete lack of excess, whilst still exploring the many things that living in this world has to offer. A person might drink in moderation, to sample the wine, taste the beer, divine the spirits if you might. And yet this moderate drinker will know his limits, and halt before the point of intoxication. To enjoy, and live, without taking it as far as it is known to go.

While I will not make claims living in moderation in many terms of the world, I for example live in excess in some aspects, while living in poverty of some. I do however believe in a moderate political, religious, and socio-economic view of the world. For example, I do not believe in censorship of any kind, I believe that a person, particularly an artist should be able to express themselves however they might. But, I recognize that as I have an affinity towards profanity, I should limit myself to the audience that might hear my words. I believe that all thoughts and ideas should be available for the person who seeks to find them. But I believe that as a matter of responsibility these same thoughts should not be forced on those with a differing view of the world.

Watching the news lately has been an assault to my nerves. I see so many examples of blatant greed and irresponsibility, I see a government about to give billions of dollars to failing corporations without batting an eye. And less than a minute later the newscaster is talking about our failing infrastructure. Roads in disrepair, bridges crumbling, levies and dams wearing to a dangerous point. An estimate of 1.5 billion dollars is given for the cost of needed renovations, and yet it is thought of as being too expensive. I am dumbfounded to say the least. To think that people have ceded control of their finances to men and women who long ago lost track of the need to protect and serve their fellow man and instead pursue to line their own pockets by being in the pocket of a corporation, whose only responsibility is to serve their own bottom line. I am dumbfounded by this lack of irresponsibility.

I have many more thoughts to go, but for now, I need rest. Until next time. Good luck.
